How our alert system works

How it works 2
With a simple, intuitive design, our emergency mass notification software, VIPER MASS, is a great ally when managing a crisis. But when the time comes to use it, how does the alert system work? Here we explain.

During an incident, when we need to communicate quickly with our employees, emergency personnel or other key stakeholders, the best option is an emergency mass notification system such as VIPER MASS, which lets you send the right message to the right recipients as quickly as possible.

When adopting this tool, the first thing to understand is that how it works will be tied to the emergency plan the company has already set up, because the software acts as a tool that helps carry out that plan, in line with the safety goals the organization has defined.

How does VIPER MASS work?

With an emergency plan in place, we can map the critical scenarios we might face, define who we want to contact in each of these situations and what alert message each person will receive, bearing in mind that messages can differ by group. This work helps us react quickly, avoid mistakes and get the most out of the application.

With that data consolidated and loaded into the system, if an emergency occurs, the person in charge of safety triggers an alert. This can be done from any device with access to the software, such as a computer or mobile phone. VIPER MASS has been carefully designed to be intuitive and practical, so all it takes is a simple button panel.

At that point the message has already been sent through channels such as SMS, WhatsApp, phone calls, email or the VIPER App, depending on each recipient. Then the system itself issues a delivery confirmation and, finally, a report. This is very useful for evaluating the overall process and planning future improvements.

Additional features of VIPER MASS

Besides alerts, the system offers other tools:

  • Mass surveys: for example, to report how badly an earthquake affected the company’s facilities, with predefined answers and real-time response statistics on screen.
  • Task assignment: during an activation, specific tasks can be assigned to contacts and tracked through each user’s report on the task.
  • Working groups: teams can be called into “working groups” so people can coordinate, including an immediate group call.
  • Library: you can manage a library of documents to attach to notifications, such as emergency plan details, evacuation guides, chemical handling instructions and much more.

Thanks to these features, which are part of VIPER MASS, companies have a fast, fully digital solution that can alert a large number of people simultaneously and immediately.
