On December 10, our COO, Camilo Salazar, was invited to T13’s Agenda Sustentable program to talk about the impact of Chilean technology on emergency management and sustainability. Technology as an Ally in Emergencies
During the interview, Camilo explained how VIPER works as a comprehensive emergency management platform. With our technology, emergency dispatchers can make fast, accurate decisions to dispatch the nearest and most appropriate resources, minimizing errors and response times. This is crucial in situations such as wildfires or industrial incidents, where every second counts.
For example, he mentioned how VIPER was used during the wildfires in Viña del Mar earlier this year, highlighting its ability to geolocate incidents and optimize the allocation of resources across more than 300 fire vehicles in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. "Our platform has the situational awareness needed to guide responders toward efficient, correct action," he said.
Protecting the Environment
Besides saving lives, VIPER has a clear focus on sustainability. Camilo stressed that our technology helps avoid impulsive decisions that could make an environmental incident worse. For example, in chemical spills, VIPER identifies the material involved and guides responders through the right actions, avoiding contamination of waterways or the surrounding environment.
International Expansion
Another highlight was VIPER’s expansion in South America. Camilo shared that, in addition to operating throughout Chile, VIPER is already present in Argentina, Peru and Ecuador, and aims to enter Colombia and Mexico soon. This positions VIPER as a world-class technology solution, developed entirely in Chile.
